My twin and I are the last of eight kids. I’m happily married sixty plus years to the love of my life and Mother of four kids. Graduated from Texas Tech with an Elementary School Teaching certificate. I taught first and second grades for twenty-two years and also substituted at schools before I retired. A highlight was teaching Bible classes at church. I also volunteered to teach the Bible at the jail with three other friends.
My world expanded when my husband and I decided to go on summer mission trips with Let’s Start Talking—A program which taught the Bible by letting foreign people read the Bible and practice their English. My world was broadened by visiting with people in foreign lands and viewing their cultures and their views.
My journey into the line of poetry began when I decided to write a poem for my Dad’s birthday. A fellow teacher of mine had beamed as she revealed getting a personalized poem from her daughter who lived overseas. I was impressed and inspired and thought I would give that a try.—I didn’t know I could write. That poem was my first and it turned out to be his last birthday. The next poem was when he died about a month later. That poem was entitled “Daddy Hasn’t Really Died”. The flood gate was then opened and I have been writing ever since. I love to write personalized poems—almost like a letter, and poems that tell a message. While teaching, I wrote poems that went with topics we were studying. Today I write poems about children, events, vacations, friends, family, thoughts and religion.
My poems are born out of quiet moments of reflection, gratitude, and faith. They give voice to the beauty and struggle of everyday life, offering words that comfort, strengthen, and inspire. Some are written to bless the reader’s spirit—to remind us of God’s presence in the ordinary and His peace in the uncertain. Some have the intent to not only inform, but to touch hearts through gentle honesty and grace. In a hurried world, these poems invite readers to slow down, reflect, and find renewed hope in simple yet profound truths.

We oftesn hear that leaders in the church must be “servant leaders.” You do not find this term explicitly stated

True Leadership works for the good of others. It speaks on their behalf. Humility’s the clay to fill the mold.
