A short poem for anyone who has ever felt unseen—and for those who want to learn to truly notice.”
Do you ever feel invisible—
As if you were not there?
That’s a symptom of the old—
Forgotten—not worth a share!
Gray hair shouts “HAS BEEN”!—
You aren’t in the swing of life!
Too bad if you are lonely—
No interest and no spice!
Little do folks embrace the old—
They think that they are through.
But a wealth of life’s adventures
Are waiting to be viewed!
Time passes quickly!
Soon the young will see.
Gray hair sprigs their hairstyle—
What’s happening is soon to be!
Take a breath and consider—
You who are still in swing.
Are you storing up memories
For others to grow and glean?
Lonely is a symptom
Of many of advanced age.
Please don’t ignore these folks
For many are such a sage!
Do you let work and pleasure
Consume ALL your time?
Will your kids resemble you?
Did you teach them this was fine?
Their children are grown and busy
Grandchildren are busy too.
Busy going here and there.–
There’s no time left for you!
Lonely is a symptom
Of many with advanced age.
Please don’t ignore these folks
For many are such a sage!
Check out the old around you.—
You might be well surprised.
They have a wealth of stories
That could help you to survive.
As your age is advancing,
Think of where you would be
If not for folks of experience—
“ LISTEN AND LEARN FROM THESE!
